Cottage Style Kids Bedroom Reveal!
You guys!! It's a very exciting Monday here on the blog because I finally get to share the cottage style kids' bedroom makeover. Eeeek!! If you've been around for a while you might know that I've been slowly working on this space for a few months now. But then it got put on the back burner during the holidays, which is why it's taken me longer than I expected to get this room finished. Well it's finally done and I cannot wait for you guys to see this transformation. It is definitely one of my favorite projects we have ever done in our little fixer upper!! Ok, so let's start with the before photo just so we can appreciate how far this space has come:
Before:
This room was basically the saddest little space in our home because it was always SO dark. We finally decided to add in an extra window on that wall to the right, which made a HUGE difference and let a ton of light in. (I shared that process in this post.) Then we painted all the door and trim white to freshen it up even more. Here's how it looks now:

Quite the change, right?! It really doesn't even feel like the same room anymore. It went from dark and dingy to bright and fresh, which is exactly what I wanted in here. That window made all the difference and it's been so much fun to watch this room take on a whole new life. My two older kiddos share this cottage style kids' bedroom and they absolutely LOVE it.
The Details
For the kids' bedding I picked up these cute triangle stitch quilts from Target and then ordered a pair of super soft fringe throw blankets. Love the pop of color it all adds to the room!
I found those school house style wall lamps recently and instantly fell in love. I really like the accordion design, plus they swing back and forth, which makes them easy for the kids to position however they need.
Next, I picked up these cute little hanging fabric bins and they're the perfect size for small toys and trinkets. Plus I love the little straps to hang from this rack, which is from Hobby Lobby.
I really love the simple and classic design of these metal beds. They're exactly what I envisioned for this room and I was so happy to find them for such a great price. The kids have been using them for several months now and they are holding up really well so far.
I have this same wall basket down in my office area and I LOVE it. I've been anxiously waiting on it to come back in stock so I could snag it for the kids' room. This basket is great because it gives us a ton of storage without taking up much room, which is perfect for a small space.
High five if you made it through all of those photos–I know it was a lot! But I couldn't resist snapping a gazillion pics of this cottage style kids' bedroom because I just love it so much. And I still can't get over how much this space has changed. It doesn't even look like the same place, right?! This was such a fun transformation and I am so glad we could finally bring my dream for this room to life. It's been a very slow process, but worth the wait!
